The promise of IoT- tens of billions of connected devices - is a dream-come-true for technology researchers.
Innovation opportunities are endless, and the world is starving for new algorithms, protocols, devices, applications, and more. But, there is a dark side. The sudden ubiquity of endpoints is placing unparalleled demands on our infrastructure, and researchers must look at new ways to evolve and manage the network, ensure security & privacy, and re-look at some of the foundational assumptions we made at the advent of the Internet. Deriving business value from IoT also requires unprecedented capabilities for managing data from connected devices and transforming the data into actionable wisdom.
In this Research and Innovation Symposium, we will talk with some of the world’s leading technology researchers and scholars about not only the New Frontiers of IoT research, but also about The Dark Side—haunting technology questions for which answers don’t come easily, but are critical to enabling a connected world.
This session of the symposium will address a broad range of breakthrough advances in IoT research related to networking, architecture, security, data management, and other areas of technology as well as the daunting unresolved challenges that lie ahead.
This session of the symposium will focus on the complexities and challenges associated with IoT analytics (including data fusion, high-dimensional predictive analytics, user-experience design, and contextualization of insights) and the innovative approaches arising from the latest academic research.
